On Giving Tuesday 2022, all donations supporting HSSD classrooms via DonorsChoose were doubled and the Howard-Suamico Education Foundation (HSEF) committed to funding the final 25% of all projects, up to $400. In total, Giving Tuesday raised $8,409.36 to fund 14 HSSD projects.
One such project, Fine Motor Games and Fun was fully funded at $403.46 and will provide special education students at Suamico hands-on learning opportunities, along with activities that challenge and excite them. Having a variety of tools, games, and materials will help students develop the foundational skills that are crucial to being successful in school.
In addition, Need a Delivery? Let’s Make it Happen received flexible carts that students in the vocational training classes will use to make deliveries for office staff. While making these deliveries, students work on their social, communication, and problem solving skills. In total, this project received $368.45 to be fully funded.
