Maddy Ehlke, Bay Port 2020, has been interested in law enforcement and fire fighting since she was a young girl. She had many family members in law enforcement and corrections, which piqued her interest in the field at a young age. Now, Maddy has realized her childhood dream as a Patrol Deputy for the Brown County Sheriff's Office.
After high school Maddy attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and earned a scholarship to play softball. While there, she earned her degree in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice and a minor in Sports Management. After graduation, she attended NWTC for the 720 Hour Law Enforcement Academy and achieved her Law Enforcement Certification.
“Law enforcement offers me the opportunity to help people in need along with giving back and supporting the community I grew up in,” said Maddy. “Law enforcement is also like a team sport. I enjoyed the culture and family environment team sports created, and law enforcement has the same concept.”
Congratulations, Deputy Ehlke! #PiratePride
